  The Social Concerns Committee in concert with the St. Dismas Catholic Community at the Department of Correction facility in Smyrna, Delaware sponsors volunteers for several prisoner mentoring programs.

  • Volunteers meet every other Monday from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at the Delaware Correctional Center (D.C.C.) with prisoners who have volunteered to be  mentored in both spiritual and sociological guidance.

  • Volunteers also meet every other Wednesday from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at D.C.C. with prisoners who are members of the St. Dismas Social Concern Group. These meetings involve the development and implementation of social justice programs/activities.

  • Holy Cross volunteers also participate in the following prison activities:

  • Rosary Prayer Groups,

  • Mass and Liturgy Services,

  • St. Dismas Choir,

  • St. Dismas Social Concerns Steering Committee Meetings.
