The Holy
Cross Religious Education exists to assist you in providing your children with
a religious education. The teachers and I
share with you in your privilege and responsibility of educating your children
with a two-fold purpose: (1) knowing who
Christ is in our own personal lives; and (2) growing in our own personal
commitment to Christ so that we give witness to the values of the Gospel.
To be
effective in assisting you in educating your children, I see the importance
that we, the faculty and you, the parents, understand the goals and objectives
of religious education and that we work together in
complete cooperation. You have
demonstrated outstanding enthusiasm and cooperation with our program and
policies in the past years. I look
forward to the continuance of that same spirit that has truly made our CCD
program a unique part of the Christian community of Holy Cross Parish.
I ask for
your continued prayers for a fruitful year – a year in which we will
demonstrate by our actions what it means to be a follower of Christ as
indicated in the Gospel. Our hope is
that we grow in our sensitivity to the needs of our neighbor so that it moves
us to actions of love, service, peace and justice. Moreover, we ask for your help in teaching
our children respect and pride for themselves as well as for others. In addition, we ask that you support your
children in carrying out the theme for the year. . . . . .
We will
accomplish this through classroom experiences, community prayer, and service to
others. In each we hope to bring our
Lord in the words and actions of our clergy, staff, teachers, and most
especially, our children.
