I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the CCD families. I have recently taken the position as Coordinator of Youth Ministry, which includes Junior High CCD and Confirmation preparation. I am very excited to have the opportunity to minister to and with the parishioners of what is already a very vibrant and spiritually active faith community.

My goals for the coming year are to observe and evaluate the programs that already exist and spend time getting to know the youth, families and volunteers I will be serving. I do not anticipate any major changes to programs for the coming year. I would however like to encourage parishioners, especially the parents of our youth, to consider taking on a volunteer role within youth ministry. Youth face many challenges in today’s world. The more adults who take an active role in helping minister to our teens, the more diverse and spiritually fulfilling programs we as a parish can offer.

Youth Ministry is the parish’s response to the needs of our youth and in today’s society the needs of our youth are many. It takes the combined effort of a parish to meet those needs. God calls us and waits for our response. If you feel a call from our Lord to serve our youth I pray you will respond with a “Yes Lord.” There is a volunteer sign up section located on the CCD registration form. Please consider giving a few hours of your time to insure that the teens of our parish can meet the challenges in their lives with the knowledge of the unconditional love of our Lord Jesus Christ and the support of a parish that is called to love in the same way.
