CONFIRMATION PREPARATION2011 – 2012 After completion of two full years of pre-Confirmation in Junior High, those youth who attend 9th grade in our local public high schools and local and upstate Catholic high schools will be given an opportunity to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. PLEASE NOTE: This is a very comprehensive sacramental program. It is based on the youth Mass, which is the nucleus of the program. Those living far away from the parish center will find it more difficult to complete the minimum requirements for Confirmation. Please discuss these requirements with your teen before registering here at Holy Cross for Confirmation. (Each parish develops its own way of meeting these requirements.) Please be aware that this is a Holy Cross community-based program (nucleus). If you choose to join us, you will have to expend energy. Registration for this program is separate from the Religious Education registration for the Level K through Junior High Program. Step 1: The youth will begin their prep with a parent/candidate workshop in late Summer, required involvement in the youth Mass and Inscription of the candidate at a scheduled youth Mass. Step 2: In the early Fall, they will go to the next plateau – the Confirmation retreat: a 3-day off-campus event with group leaders and staff. Step 3: Instructional preparation will begin after the retreat. Classes will take place on-campus.
